What I'm Reading

STORIES I’VE READ AND ENJOYED THIS MONTH

As profiled in my newsletter.

October 2020

Tallowwood

N.R. WALKER

Tallowwood received the most number of votes in the poll I conducted in September for what to read next.

Since his boyfriend's death eight years ago, Sydney detective August Shaw works alone, lives alone, is alone—and that’s exactly how he likes it. His work solving cold cases is his entire life, but no one believes that a string of unsolved cold-case suicides are linked to what could be Australia’s worst ever serial killer. Except the much younger and attractive Senior Constable Jacob Porter, whose new case turns out to be linked to August’s cold cases, and Jake agrees they’re not suicides at all.

The Nightworkers

BRIAN SELFON

I am also going to start this book, which was released on October 6 and is written by a friend. It's not a romance, for sure, but I am very much looking forward to it.

A tale of crime and consequence through shifting perspectives about a Brooklyn family of money launderers thrown into chaos when a runner ends up dead and a bag of dirty money goes missing.
