SPN 3.7: Fresh Blood

Back in Maine and lifting weights so it’s Supernatural time. Fresh Blood completes the Gordon Walker arc and it’s a pretty karmically tragic end for that poor bastard. He’s a hunter who got into the life because a vampire turned his sister and he first runs into the Winchesters when they’re kind of vulnerable, right after their dad dies. Initially, Dean and Gordon bond over the hunting life but Sam takes an almost instant dislike to Gordon. And turns out he’s not wrong, because Gordon is batshit crazy and sociopathic (played to absolute chilling perfection by the excellent Sterling K. Brown).

Anyway, by Fresh Blood, Gordon is hell-bent on killing Sam (for Reasons that aren’t entirely irrational) and the Winchesters have to kill him. Not before he’s turned into a vampire, though, which he is Not Happy about but he’s gonna kill himself (as his last good deed to the world) right after he kills Sam (oh, and a handful of other people in between, but you know what they say about omelets and breaking eggs).

But my favorite part of this ep is the end, when Dean starts teaching Sam how to fix the Impala, because Dean is getting dragged to Hell at the end of this season and Sammy’s gotta know how to take care of himself and Dean’s baby when Dean is gone.
