Canadian Maritimes Road Trip: PEI
Iāve wanted to visit Prince Edward Island pretty much since I read Anne of Green Gables. So we couldnāt go to PEI and not see the house that inspired L.M. Montgomeryās most famous book.

Maud didnāt actually live in this houseāit belonged to some cousinsābut she lived nearby, in her grandparentsā house, and visited her cousins a lot. And she definitely modeled the house Anne Shirley lived in with Marilla and Mathew Cuthburt after this house. Thereās a whole Green Gables Heritage Center, complete with hiring Anne lookalikes to hang out on the grounds for photo ops.

Anne and Gilbert Blythe playing cards.

Honestly, this headstone really should say: Ewan MacDonald, husband of Lucy Maud Montgomery, but whatever.
