I first read this book years ago on the recommendation of a work colleague who was on a kick of reading debut novels. It’s one of my favorite books. We went on a road trip through the Canadian maritime provinces and since this book is set on Cape Breton Island, I figured it was the perfect time to reread it for the…I dunno…the fifth or sixth time maybe? I’ve lost track.
