What I'm reading
Moonlight Phoenixes & Moonlight Cherries by Alexa Piper
So, a while back, Abbie mentioned she'd recently read Moonlight Phoenixes by Alexa Piper. And I made a mental note to check that out because I hadn't read it (don't think I'd read anything by that author yet).
And then, I found out that both Moonlight Phoenixes and Moonlight Cherries (book 1) are available on Kobo Plus (which I have and freaking love).
Folks, I tore through both books. I really liked the world building in the series and wish/hope there were/will be more to read.
Phoenixes is definitely darker than Cherries but I rather liked how Amory isn't nearly as innocent in the second book. There are references to homophobia in Amory's shitty family of origin and conversion therapy, which I normally don't seek out, but I love the family Amory finds at the Midnight Diner even before he falls in love with a powerful (and powerfully sexy), enigmatic man who can't die but will kill for him.
Thanks for the rec, Abbie!
What are you all reading right now?
