What I'm reading
The Silo Saga Omnibus - Hugh Howey

The remnants of humanity live underground in a vast silo, where rules matter and no rule is more strictly enforced than to never speak of going outside. When a rule-breaking mechanic named Juliette assumes leadership, the foundation of their strictly-regulated society faces collapse. This omnibus combines the three novels (Wool, Shift, Dust) with essays and additional short fiction, and serves as the basis for the Apple TV+ series Silo.
I started reading this omnibus while watching season 3 of Silo and comparing the changes the tv show made has been interesting. I definitely approve of the show making Walk and Senator Thurman women and not killing Knox off in the first wave of the revolution.
The second book in the series, Shift, is really unpleasant to read sometimes. The people behind the silos are really, really bad people and the βheroβ in Silo 1 is not a whole lot better. The descriptions are truly evocative, which basically means that I absolutely do not want to live in any of the silos or in the world before or after the silos were built. The third book, Dust, has more action and ends happier? I guess? and was less unpleasant to read. But I am enjoying the tv version much more than the books and Iβm looking forward to how they wrap everything up in season 4.
