Endurance: Shackleton's Incredible Voyage — Alfred Lansing
We started listening to the audio version of Ernest Shackleton's incredible voyage across a thousand miles of ice and ocean at the Antarctic Circle on the way to Maine and lemme tell you, it is gripping. I am continually fascinated about people who undergo arduous journeys like this aborted trek to cross the continent of Antarctica or scale Mount Everest and nearly die in the attempt. What makes people do these kinds of crazy things?? I'm the kind of gal who much prefers listening to tales while drinking a hot toddy and working on a jigsaw puzzle in my vacation house.
